Instructions for Oral Presentation

Equipments

The presentation room is equipped with a laptop computer, a data projector, a microphone, a lectern, and a pointing device. You are strongly recommended to use the laptops provided by the conference. The laptops are equipped with:

  • Window XP SP3
  • USB port, DVD player
  • Office 2003
  • Adobe Reader, Flash Player, Media Player (Windows Media Player/Real Player/QuickTime)
  • Anti-virus software

You are advised to check if your slides can be displayed properly using PowerPoint Viewer 2003. The free software is available at Microsoft Office Online. For more information on the free viewer, please refer to Install and run PowerPoint Viewer 2003.

Presentation

Please notify the session chair of your presence and upload your slides to the laptop at least 15 minutes before the start of the session. A 15 minutes presentation plus 5 minutes Q&A are allocated for each paper. Kindly ensure that your presentation falls with the allocated time limit.

Tips to making an engaging presentation:

  • Clearly illustrate key points with supporting material on the slides.
  • Make eye contact and refrain from reading directly from the slides.
